✉️ Why can I not use the Email Broadcast feature for marketing or promotions?
Tixtree is an event ticketing platform, not an email marketing tool. The Email Broadcast feature is intended strictly for event-related communication, such as updates, reminders, schedule changes, or essential information directly connected to an event for which tickets have been issued.
It must not be used for marketing campaigns, promotional announcements, unrelated newsletters, or general audience outreach.
This limitation exists for several important reasons:
Spam complaints and sender reputation
Even a small number of spam complaints can significantly impact sending reputation. Poor reputation affects deliverability for all organizers using the platform and may cause important event emails to land in spam or be blocked entirely.
Deliverability protection
Email providers actively monitor engagement, complaint rates, and content patterns. Promotional messaging sent through an event broadcast system increases the risk of filtering or throttling, which can prevent legitimate event updates from reaching attendees.
Compliance and consent
Marketing emails typically require explicit marketing consent and proper unsubscribe management under regulations such as GDPR and CAN-SPAM. The broadcast feature is designed for event-related communications tied to ticket purchases, not for broader marketing consent management.
Platform integrity and shared infrastructure
Our sending infrastructure is shared across organizers. Misuse for promotional campaigns can jeopardise overall deliverability and negatively impact other users on the platform.
Attendee trust
Ticket buyers expect communication directly related to their event. Unrelated promotional content increases unsubscribe rates and complaints, which harms both organisers and the platform.
If you need marketing automation, segmentation, or promotional campaigns, we recommend using a dedicated email marketing platform designed for that purpose.
Misuse of the Email Broadcast feature may result in suspension or restriction of access to protect the platform and its users.
